Hey there, derby fans!
The 2010-2011 WFTDA season came to an end this weekend with the Continental Divide and Conquer Championship. Gotham Girls Roller Derby came out on top this year, after beating Oly Rollers from Olympia.
The next major roller derby event is the Roller Derby World Cup, which will be held in Toronto, from December 1 to 4. Participating countries include: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, the United States and Canada!

BOSTON, MA—Two weeks after landing a huge upset on a highly-ranked West Region team in Rat City, Montreal (#24 nationally via DNN, #7 in the East via WFTDA) did it again on the East’s Boston (#13 nationally via DNN, #4 in the East via WFTDA). The Canadian visitors took a one-point lead on Boston on the last jam of the first half and never trailed in the second half on their way to a 112-84 win. It marked the first time Montreal had defeated Boston in four tries.
According to Flat Track Stats…
We are 17th place out of 74, or 5th out of 16 in the East Region.
DNN puts us at 21st out of 25 for September, and WFTDA places us 6th out of 17 for last quarter for East Region.
Not this weekend but the next, will be going with the New Skids on the Block to Eastern Regionals Derby in the Burbs in White Plains, NY for the September 24-26th weekend where the top ten of the region will compete for the three top spots to go to the WFTDA Championships.
